Guest Speakers

 At our Club Meetings, we have guest speakers visit our Club and talk to us about their business, their lives, and other topics important to us as a club, as a community and as servants to the blind and disabled. Interested in coming to a meeting?  Contact Russell Hall at 336 549-3100 to learn more. Some of the upcoming guest speakers are listed below:

  • Our club normally meets twice a month on the first and third Monday of each month.  MEETINGS ARE HELD AT FIRST BAPTIST CHURCH, GREENSBORO LOCATED AT 1000  FRIENDLY AVE AT THE CORNER OF FRIENDLY AND MENDENHALL ST. Upcoming meetings are as follows:
  • On January 7th, Kathy Neff-GSO Science Center will give a presentation.


The Greensboro Host Lions Club has a number of events throughout the year, including fund raising to support vision and hearing projects, a VIP Christmas Party, and Vision Screenings in addition to working with DSS to provide scholarships for Camp Dogwood and the VIP Fishing Tournament. The 2018 VIP fishing tournament will be announced later this year. Applications will be available on line at the VIP Fishing site.

-Regular club meetings for April will be held on the 1st and 15th. The board meeting will be held at the standard time on the 8th.

**The Greensboro Host Lions Club Will help the Urban Ministry with their canned food drive at the Food Lion on 1316 Lees Chapel Road. Hours are from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm.**

Our annual “Sweethearts Night” is coming up on the 14th. Please contact Bill Heintzelman for the details if you’re interested.

-Need a new car or truck?  Lions are selling raffle tickets for $10.00 to held support Camp Dogwood, a camp for the visually impaired. The raffle winner gets the choice or a new truck or car!   Ask a Lion how you can get a ticket.

-We  collect used eyeglasses for use in third world countries. You may drop off eyeglasses at the Walmart optical section or at most ophthalmologist or optometrist offices from where Lions will pick those up. You can also give them to any Lion.
